Share FAQ
How many weeks will I receive produce and when does the season start?
You'll get to choose a Tuesday or Friday delivery.
We'll start delivering produce to our pick-up sites on Tuesday, June 1st. Our last delivery date will be Friday, October 15th. This provides you with 20 weeks of fresh fruits and veggies.
How many people does one Standard share feed?
One Standard share should feed approximately two omnivores, and one vegetarian. This will, of course, depend on eating habits. For instance, a North Portland couple with a habit of eating dinner out twice a week found this size share MORE than enough for them.
What am I investing in?
Besides fresh and high-quality vegetables, here are some of the things you are supporting with your purchase of a share:
• Predominantly organic and open-pollinated seeds
• Naturally derived soil amendments and cover crops that help us maintain healthy soil tilth and productivity
• A fair wage for our farmers
• A small-scale operation that aspires to be as gentle to the planet as possible, which MAY mean keeping it small, low-tech and limiting resources that use fossil fuels
• Peace of mind, knowing you have access to the place that grows your food. You can ask us questions, visit it, help us grow it!
How much does one Standard Share cost?
A Standard share costs $332.
Can I save money if I volunteer at the farm?
Yes, in fact, we encourage it! By choosing a Working Share, members commit to completing 4 hours of volunteer work at the farm. You will be required to sign up for an established work party day, or set up another day with us if this doesn't work. In return, you receive a discount on your share.
How much is a Working Share?
A Working Share is $295.
When do I sign up for a Work Party day?
Once you've subscribed as a working share member, you will receive a confirmation email that will include a number of work party days. You'll be asked to send us a return email within the week with your commitment to one of those days. If these dates don't work for you, we'll help you schedule something else that does.
